Pre-Passover Seder, Tuesday, March 19, 5:00-6:30pm
Elon Hillel and ZBT fraternity are co-sponsoring a Pre-Passover Liberation-Themed SEDER on Tuesday, March 19, from 5:00 - 6:30pm in the McBride Room in the Numen Lumen Pavilion.
Enjoy a fun and meaningful communal Passover Seder with good friends and good food! This seder will take place a week before the Jewish holiday of Passover, which begins this year on Monday evening, March 25. Enjoy a regular seder, with additional readings and dialogue about the connections between the traditional seder and current issues.
Why is this Passover Seder different from other Hillel Passover seders?
#1: it is happening the week before Passover
#2: it is connected to the liberation theme
#3: it is cosponsored by ZBT
The Seder will include the traditional retelling of the story of the Exodus from Egypt (the reading of the Haggadah) with lots of singing. We will taste the symbolic foods of Passover including matzoh, charoset, horseradish, parsley and hard-boiled eggs. We will also enjoy home-made matzoh ball soup.
The cost is $2/person and reservations are required. Tickets can be purchased between at a Moseley table on March 14, 18, and 19, or any time at the Sklut Hillel Center. Non-Jewish faculty, staff, and students are always welcome.
