Deal Spotlight: Holiday lights, skating and more offered at Charlotte Motor Speedway

A ride through a light extravaganza or a chance to ice skate with family and friends are just a couple of the holiday activities available at Charlotte Motor Speedway this month.

Elon University faculty and staff can experience it all at a reduced price by presenting a flier available on the Human Resources discount page under miscellaneous.

The holiday light extravaganza, which is from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. until Dec. 30, includes a ride through zMAX Dragway and the infield of the 1.5-mile superspeedway. There are 800 displays featuring more than 3 million lights. Watch a video of the display here.

The Speedway Christmas Village is opened Thursday through Sunday nights. It features a Bethlehem Village presented by New Life 91.9 and has live actors and animals, a petting zoo, games and activities in Santa’s Workshop. Children and adults can visit with Santa for a photo.

The Coca-Cola Ice Rink is opened until Jan. 21 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The hours from Dec. 17 to Jan. 1 are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day.

Speedway Christmas is $20 a car load with a $4 discount when the flier is presented. Tickets for ice skating are $12, which includes the skate rental fee. The discount is $2.

Speedway Christmas and the Coca-Cola Ice Rink are closed Christmas Day.
