Trustees approve faculty promotions and tenure

Elon University trustees approved promotions and tenure for faculty members in a March 1 meeting.

Antonio Izzo (Department of Biology)
Nina Namaste (Department of World Languages and Cultures)
Rebecca Pope-Ruark (Department of English)
Michael Pregill (Department of Religious Studies)
Safia Swimelar (Department of Political Science and Policy Studies)
Anthony Weaver (Department of Sport and Event Management)

Lynda Butler-Storsved (Department of Health and Human Performance) and Paula Weller (Department of Accounting) were promoted to senior lecturer. Trustees learned that continuance in lecture track appointment was approved for George Hlavaty (Department of English). Continuance was also approved for Vitaliy Strohush (Department of Economics) and Tonya Train (Department of Biology) in their continuing track appointments.
