Members of the Elon Club Swim team were selected to participate in the 2018 Collegiate Club Swimming & Diving National Championships in Atlanta, GA.
On April 7 and 8, members of the Elon Club Swim team competed in the 2018 National Championship of College Club Swimming held at the McAuley Aquatic Center at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia.
Collegiate Club Swimming is the collective organization that unifies 126 college club swim programs across the country and is backed by U.S. Masters Swimming. To qualify, students had to compete at meets and achieve qualifying times. In the pool, several student-athletes had personal bests, shaving seconds off their qualifying times. Pamela Danko (sophomore, President) – 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle, 100-yard IM
Claire Strom (1 year) – 50-yard butterfly, 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle
Matthew Grinnell (senior) – 50-yard breaststroke, 100-yard freestyle
Nathan Hunnicutt (Junior, co-Vice President) – 50-yard butterfly, 50-yard backstroke
Hannah Stanicki (1 year) – 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, 50-yard breaststroke
Jacob Whyte (1 year) – 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle
Joe Stokes (sophomore) – 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle
Grayson Albers (sophomore, Treasurer) – 100-yard breaststroke, 100 yard IM
Christopher van Dijk (1st Year, co-Vice President) – 100-yard breaststroke, 50-yard breaststroke
Gabby Ridge (1 year) – 100-yard breaststroke
Madison Clark (senior) – team-selected volunteer (Each team is required to provide a volunteer to help time individual athletes for each event)
