Scholarship & Opportunities Fair
Monday, March 4, 2024
4:30-6:00 PM | McKinnon Hall
Come learn about various scholarly & academic opportunities and resources to support your holistic well-being and success that will help you thrive at Elon!
About the Fair
The Scholarships and Opportunities Fair is a university-wide event designed to help students get involved and thrive at Elon by sharing information about various scholarly and academic resources, opportunities, and experiences led or overseen by university faculty, staff, and departments. Moreover, the Fair aims to connect students with resources to:
- build a sense of community and belonging
- strengthen their toolkit for success
- provide connections to facilitate meaningful mentoring relationships
Invited representatives from various organizations and departments across the University will feature opportunities including learning opportunities (such as all the Experiential Learning Requirements), identity-related resource centers, financial prizes, awards, or scholarships, break and summer programs, special interest positions or recognitions, and more. Representatives are eager to discuss these various opportunities with you!
Adventure Pathways
Before entering McKinnon Hall, you will receive a handout that contains three options of Adventure Pathways that you may choose to go on if you are seeking a more guided approach to engaging with participating organizations and departments. The handout that you receive will explain the three Adventure Pathways below in more detail:
- The Student Success Pathway
- The Mentoring Constellation Pathway
- The Facilitating Integration and Reflection in the Elon Experiences (FIRE2) Pathway
Each of these adventures is designed to empower you to strategically reflect on what experiences and/or resources might be for you as you create a roadmap for your Elon journey.
If you choose to go on an adventure, there will be a list of various organizations and departments for you to intentionally engage with depending on the Adventure Pathway that you are on. As you engage with the organizations and departments on that adventure, let the representatives know that they are on your adventure to receive a sticker to place on your Adventure Pathways sheet. Once you have completed your adventure (and have the stickers to prove it!), you will be able to turn it in to be entered into a gift card raffle.
