Hello! I am Margo Buchanan, a junior from Raleigh, N.C., double majoring in Theatrical Design and Technology, and Political Science. I am a Elon College Fellow, an Office Assistant for Elon Academy, a third year CAT mentor, a member of the German Club, and a member of Elon’s student run theater group NewWorks. Outside of school I like to read, go hiking, and watch movies. I’m super excited to continue working with Elon Academy and EA scholars this semester!

Hello! I’m Jada Moody, a junior from Rocky Mount, N.C., majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Data Science. This is my second year being a CAT mentor and I am excited to be a part of this amazing program! I also work as an Office Assistant for Elon Academy. In my free time, I love binge watching shows on Netflix, spending time with family and friends, drawing and listening to music. I really love helping and watching others grow and I cannot wait to start working with Elon Academy again!

Hello! I am Danny Gutierrez, a senior from Burlington, N.C., majoring in Communication Design. I graduated from the Alamance Burlington Early College with an Associate in Arts and I’m working toward my bachelors degree as an Odyssey scholar and Communications Fellow. I was a part of the Mu class in Elon Academy. I host a radio show on campus and I’m always working on new art projects. Creating and curating is what I love most. I’m truly excited to be a CAT mentor, I remember mine fondly. This is my 3rd year as a CAT Mentor.

Hey all. I am Rob Babcock, a senior from Easton, CT., majoring in Finance and Political Science with hopes of finding a career in corporate finance or wealth management. Over the past summers, I have been working at a small business in Connecticut and have developed a deep understanding of the business world. I spent a semester in Italy experiencing the culture and amazing opportunities. In my free time, I love watching football, playing basketball with friends, and cooking. I can’t wait to work with the Elon Academy scholars and the entire team!

Hello! I am Sidra Kennedy, a senior from Cary, N.C., majoring in Policy Studies and Human Service Studies with a minor in Teaching and Learning. I am a Periclean and a Change Maker Scholar. I am very active on campus being a facilitator for Barefoot Dialogue, a mentor for East Neighborhood, an Orientation Leader, serving on multiple Delta Delta Epsilon Delta committees, a member of Hillel, and a part of the Peace Corps Preps program. I like to stay connected to the local community of Alamance County by volunteering with the Boys and Girls Club. In my free time, I enjoy reading, exploring nature, traveling, and spending time with my friends and family. As I am so passionate about education, and hope to pursue a career within it, I am excited to get to work with Elon Academy!!

Hello! I am Hannah Hanson, a junior Secondary English Education Major. This is my first year being an Elon Academy CAT mentor, and I am so excited to meet everyone and build meaningful connections. For the past few years at Elon, I have worked at the Curriculum Resources Center in the School of Education as an Elon 1010 Peer Educator and, most recently, a Writing Center Consultant. I love the Elon community and helping people thrive here and in life. Outside of Elon, I love to be outdoors, move my body, read, listen to music, and eat lots of delicious food.

Hello! My name is DeMya Culp, a senior Arts Administration and Drama & Theater Studies double major pursuing a career in the arts business. I am a member of Elon’s first all-black a Capella group called Melanated Melodies, a member of Elon’s premier show choir called Elon Muses, and involved in the Christian organization Campus Outreach. Whenever I’m not performing or singing, I love to write stories, poetry, and watch Netflix. Sometimes, I even like taking a break and just relaxing under the sun. This is my first time being a CAT mentor, and I’m super excited to get started!

Hi everyone! I’m Emma Puleo, a senior Odyssey Scholar from Annapolis, MD., majoring in Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics. This is my first year as a CAT mentor but it’ll be my fourth year with Elon Academy as an Academic Coach! In my free time, you can catch me in the chemistry labs, at work at the Mission, or helping my fellow peers. I love to cook, binge watch tv shows, and spend time with my friends and my furbaby, Poko! I absolutely love every second of being a mentor as I’ve been a mentor for incoming Odyssey scholars and I can’t wait to share that passion with Elon Academy this year 🙂

My name is Brandon Fowlin, a senior Odyssey Scholar from Cary, N.C., majoring in Public Health with minors in Neuroscience and Policy Studies, with hopes of getting into the medical field after graduation. At Elon, I served as a College of Arts & Sciences Senator in the Student Government Association (SGA), volunteered with Alpha Phi Omega (APO)/Elon Volunteers, and conducted various undergraduate research. Hi! I am Connor Vaughn, a sophomore from Charlotte, N.C., double majoring in History Secondary Education and Political Science. This past summer, I worked with Elon Academy’s Summer Program and I want to take this opportunity to continue building on the connections I made, as well as, providing insight into the college application process! In my free time I enjoy reading, listening to music, watching TV, playing soccer, and playing video games. I am a Lead Student Ambassador at the Student Professional Development Center and a member of Elon’s theater group, NewWorks. Outside of school, I love watching TV on Netflix, cooking/baking, and hanging out with family and friends. Fun Fact: I weighed 1 pound and 5 ounces when I was born. Hello! I am Gisselle Garcia-Jose, a senior majoring in Business Analytics and minoring in Engineering Design. I am beyond excited to work as an Academic Coach this year. On campus, I am involved with Chi Upsilon Sigma National Latin Sorority, Inc, Elon Engineers, and the First Phoenix Mentoring Program just to name a few. In my free time, I enjoy grabbing an iced coffee and spending time with friends or drawing. Overall, I am excited to have the opportunity to give back to such incredible communities.

I am Eva Real Roman, a sophomore Odyssey Scholar from Ocean Isle Beach, N.C., majoring in Finance, part of the 3+1 Accelerated Dual Degree Program, and on track to earn my master’s in Business Analytics. Along with being a CAT Mentor, I am a mentor for both the Odyssey Program and the First Phoenix Mentoring Program for first-generation students.
