Welcome to the “It Takes a Village Project” situated within the Center for Access and Success and is designed to improve the academic achievement of elementary students in Alamance County.  The Village Project is responsible for increasing youth access to programs and initiatives that respond to the needs of children.  By partnering with the Alamance-Burlington School System, the Village ensures that there is a holistic approach to improving outcomes amongst Pre-K – 5th grade students, especially underserved students.  The Village Project has worked collaboratively with the Oak Foundation, First Presbyterian Church, Alamance County teachers and principals, and Elon faculty, staff, and student volunteers to provide a safe, healthy environment for students, where students are given the security, they need to develop and flourish, and to be able to realize their hopes and dreams.  On behalf of the hundreds of students we serve each year I thank you and assure you that we will continue our efforts to make a positive difference in the lives of the youth, families, and communities we serve.

Sincerely,
Dr. Travella Free
