Annual BFA/BA Thesis Exhibition
Gallery 406
The BFA/BA exhibition is part of the graduating Elon art majors’ capstone experience, representing the culmination of our senior’s year-long art-making endeavors. During the opening reception, each exhibiting artist presents brief statements offering context to their thesis.
Amos Kennedy, Visiting Artist
Gallery 406
Amos Kennedy is one of the most important letterpress printers practicing today. He is an American printer, book artist and papermaker best known for social and political commentary, particularly in printed posters. One critic noted that Kennedy was “…unafraid of asking uncomfortable questions about race and artistic pretension.”
Katina Bitsicas, Visiting Artist
Gallery 406
Through video, installation, photography and performance, Katina Bitsicas explores the parallels between personal loss and trauma and the theme of living fully while the afterlife still looms nearby. Her multimedia works examine how humans can connect and find meaning through shared experiences.
Peephole Cinema
102E, Arts West
Each year, students in the course Video Art and Expanded Cinema create moving-image pieces specifically for the context of a door peephole, addressing such themes as privacy, security, protection, voyeurism, portals, among others. Videos are maximum duration of 5 minutes.

Annual Student Juried Exhibition
All current undergraduate students of Elon University are eligible to enter their artwork for consideration. The exhibition is open to all 2D, 3D, and 4D artworks in any medium.
Art Day in DC!
We are kicking off Spring Semester with our annual Washington, DC trip. This day long excursion sets off from Elon and arrives in Washington, DC mid-morning with plenty of time to check out exhibitions at the National Gallery of Art, Smithsonian Museum of African Art, the Hirshhorn Museum to name a few.
Arts West Living Studio
Dress To Pollute, is one installation in a series of annual EcoArt course installations in the Arts West Living Studio. This collaborative project was an interactive installation on fast fashion, which also included a “rehoming” of used clothing. In other words, participants were invited to shop and as they also learned about the various issues connected to our global clothing industry.

Shibori dyeing is a historic pattern making process that is fun and creates beautiful dramatic textiles. Come learn this magical process using indigo. No experience necessary and all materials provided.

Ignite the Night

Our senior’s culminating event. Each artist has exactly 5 minutes to present their ideas in Powerpoint fashion with 20 images automatically forwarding every 15 seconds. The goal of their presentation is to clearly communicate their thesis abstract, and present images of their current work and their influences.

Bring your own clothing to mend or we’ll provide all the material you’ll need to make your own cloth bag to combat the use of plastic bags! Don’t have any clothing to repair? We’ll provide all the materials and tools needed and you get to keep what you sew!
Mend America
College Coffee
On Friday, Jan. 20 inauguration day, Frau Fiber launched a four-year campaign Mend America Official Communications. An act of vigilance and participation in democracy, Frau Fiber will be sending hand stitched patches, official communication and concerns to government officials. During College Coffee on Feb. 21, this action will be brought to Elon, and Frau Fiber asks you to join her by making your own patches and stating your concerns and mailing them to government officials.
