Visiting Artists
The Visiting Artist Program

Visiting Artist, Liz Ensz, public artist lecture
Each year, the Art Department invites proposals for solo and small group exhibitions. From approximately 200 submissions, we select 4-5 visiting artists whose work engages with contemporary art practices and ideas. We specifically seek artists who challenge and expand conversations around the definitions of art, materiality, and process. Visiting artists engage with students through critiques, discussions, and studio workshops, enriching the learning experience. Gallery 406 also hosts opening receptions and formal gallery talks, welcoming the broader campus community to connect with the work on display.
