Studio Art Awards
The Art department is pleased to offer two merit-based scholarships and two needs-based scholarships. These yearly awards are made possible through the generosity of donors and may provide modest funds for student-artists in each class rank. The scholarship awards are credited towards the student’s tuition and fees for the upcoming academic year. Art students who have received scholarships for the current year must reapply for the upcoming year, as Art Department scholarships are awarded on an annual basis. Eligibility is limited to current Art majors and minors and incoming BFA students.
The scholarships are described below. Click the link at the bottom of the page to apply. The scholarship forms go live in January are reviewed in the spring for the upcoming academic year.

The Judge T. & Allie Brower Warren Scholarship
This scholarship is designated for incoming BFA students, rising sophomores, and rising juniors who would be enrolled full-time at Elon during the upcoming academic year. Current students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Use the link below to apply.
Edwina Graff Hughes Johnson Scholarship
This scholarship is designated for rising seniors who have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and will be enrolled full-time at Elon during the upcoming academic year. Students in this class rank should use the link below to apply for the Johnson Art Scholarship.
The Daniel/Newman Endowed Scholarship
Daniel/Newman awards are intended to support rising sophomore, junior, or senior students with financial need who are majoring in Art.
Pamela Turner ’76 Memorial Scholarship
Turner awards are intended to support the ambitious research and studio practice of a current Elon Art major or minor. Students eligible for this scholarship should use the the link below.
Art & Art History Global Studies
The Rhoades Endowment for Global Education was established by retired Elon University faculty member Barbara Rhoades in honor of her father and generations of her family before and after who traveled to understand and appreciate diverse cultures. Distributions from the Endowment are awarded annually to support deserving Elon students who are majoring in art or art history and wish to participate in the University’s Global Educations program, which comprises both International Study and Study USA.
