Guidelines For Experiential Requirement In Biology

The Biology Department’s experiential learning requirement (ELR) can be satisfied in one of two ways: conducting a research project (BIO 499) under the guidance of a full-time faculty member in the Biology Department or fulfilling the requirements of an internship (BIO 481) under the supervision of a full-time faculty member in the Biology Department. Note that the University has an ELR as well – these can take a variety of additional forms including: leadership positions, study abroad, or service learning.the Biology ELR counts towards that one, but the Elon general ELRs do not necessarily count for the Biology. Be sure to check with your advisor for more clarification.
