Beta Beta Beta Biology Honors Society

Beta Beta Beta (Tri-Beta) is the Biology Honors Society which generally represents a subset of the Biology Club. Students must apply to become Tri-Beta members and must meet a set of academic requirements. Please contact the Tr-Beta faculty advisors for more information. “Associate Members” participate in club activities and have an interest in biology. “Regular Members” have satisfied the following requirements: a) Biology major b) Completed at least one term of the sophomore year c) Completed at least three courses in Biology, of which at least one is not an introductory course, with an average grade of B or its equivalent in those biology courses d) Good academic standing. A call for new members is announced early in the spring semester – but feel free to participate in our events any time!

Meetings are coordinated in conjunction with the Biology Club which meets on the first and third Thursday of every month during Spring and Fall Semesters in McMichael 226. There are multiple ways to receive the most current announcements regarding club speakers/events/outings 1) request   to join the Blackboard group for Tri-Beta by contacting one of the advisors (Dr. Jen Hamel and Dr. Eric Bauer), 2) join the Biology Club at Elon group on Facebook, or 3) scan through the postings on 2nd floor McMichael Science Building.

  • Socializing and promoting connections between students in the department
  • sponsors research presentations by students and faculty
