The Elon English and PWR Majors prepare students for a wide variety of careers including in media, education, business, law, and in non-profits. Many students also pursue some sort of graduate degree in English, Creative Writing, Rhetoric, or in other fields. Your advisor in the English Department can help you find internships and job opportunities, and can advise you on graduate school and beyond.
The Student Professional Development Center (SPDC) provides guidance and support to students as they pursue successful careers and post-graduate work in English. The SPDC assists with career exploration, job/internship searching, interview preparation, the graduate school process, and much more. What can I do with an English degree?

Graduate School in English
Elon English graduates have pursued M.A.s in English, Creative Writing, Rhetoric; M. Eds., and Ph.D.’s in English, as well as graduate school in other fields such as Law and Social Work.
Speak to your major advisor or other professors in the department about preparing for graduate programs in English and other disciplines.
