French on Campus
French Club
The French Club is a highly active, student-run organization for Francophiles across campus. Students gather for regular conversation hours, crêpe nights, films, speakers, dinners, and other cultural events. For more information, please contact Professor Patti Burns or visit the French Club’s page on Facebook.
Pi Delta Phi

To be eligible for Pi Delta Phi, students must take at least two French courses beyond the Intermediate level (FRE 222), must achieve a 3.0 overall GPA, and a 3.2 GPA in all French courses taken at Elon. For more information, please contact the chapter moderator, Dr. Sophie Adamson.
Polyglot Living Learning Community
In the Polyglot Living Learning Community (LLC) students live with others who share an interest in French language and French-speaking cultures. Dr. Olivia Choplin serves as advisor to the Polyglot LLC and provides a link between the social atmosphere of the learning community and the academic content of the department. For more information, please contact Dr. Olivia Choplin or visit the Facebook page for the Polyglot LLC.
All students, staff and faculty are invited to Elon’s weekly Table Française in the Irazu coffee shop. Come share informal French conversation with other French and Francophone speakers across campus. Speakers of all levels are welcome! Contact Professor Patti Burns for more information.
