Summer, Semester, or Year at the Universität Heidelberg

Consistently ranked among the world’s best universities, the Universität Heidelberg is also Germany’s oldest (founded 1386). Courses are taught in German or English, and can be used to fulfill requirements in the Elon Core, German Studies, or your major. Prerequisite for the summer program is German 122. Prerequisite for the semester/year program is German 222. Information and application available through the The Elon Global Education Center.

Heidelberg is a beautiful city with a strong “college town” feel. Full of young people and blessed with a warm, sunny climate, it is renowned for its architecture and food & drink. Heidelberg is also close to major attractions: Munich, Cologne, Nuremberg, Strasbourg, and Lake Constance are within a 3-hour train trip.

Dual Degree at the ESB Business School

Elon’s Love School of Business has a powerful partnership with the ESB Business School in Reutlingen, Germany, recently ranked the top business school in Germany. Select students will earn degrees from both institutions as part of a four-year dual-degree program that features a paid internship in Germany. Other highly motivated students may choose a year abroad option at the ESB. Students interested in either of these options should read more about the program and contact the German faculty or Business faculty.

Semester or Year in Berlin

With course offerings (in English or German) in Business, Communications and Journalism, Health Sciences, International Relations, Political Science, and German language and culture, the Berlin program pairs nicely with most majors. Information and application available through the Isabella Cannon Global Education Center. Berlin is a cosmopolitan city with a laid-back feel and some of Europe’s most compelling historic sites.
