Elon Band Day
Welcome to Elon Band Day!
Elon University’s Band Day is an event that invites interested high school band students to be part of the university’s marching band, the Fire of the Carolinas (FOTC), for a day.
This event helps participating students get the feeling of what it is like to be in a university marching band. Students will participate in all game day activities, which include an afternoon rehearsal, a tailgate parade, and a halftime performance. All students are welcome (woodwinds, brass, percussion – battery and front ensemble, color guard, twirlers, and majorettes).
This year, we will be hosting our second annual Band Day on Saturday, September 21, 2024, during the home game against East Tennessee State University. Lunch will be provided. We hope you can join us!
Registration
A registration fee of $5 is required for all participating students. The registration deadline for Elon Band Day will be August 26, 2024, at 5:00 pm. Please send checks payable to Elon University. Each participating student, the band director, and one adult chaperone for every ten (10) students will be given a complimentary ticket for the event. Though we are encouraging full band participation, individual participants or smaller groups are welcome. Regardless of the number of participating students, all students must be accompanied by their band director. The FOTC will communicate all event details, the distribution of music, and parking through band directors via email.
Additional Tickets
Any additional “Family and Friends” who may wish to attend the game and Band Day festivities may purchase a ticket online through the Elon Athletics Department. We are pleased to offer early ticket sale opportunities at a discounted ticket for the game. To access the ticket sale visit the Elon University Ticketing website and use:

Music
Music will be provided to band directors prior to Band Day. Band directors will be responsible for distributing the music to their students before arrival at Elon and will also be responsible for ensuring that students have flip folders and lyres.
Equipment
Drum majors, color guard members, and majorettes/twirlers are also invited to participate in Band Day. Color guard members and majorette/twirlers should plan to bring their own flag or baton. Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide additional front ensemble equipment for Band Day. We suggest that those who play in a front ensemble bring cymbals and battery instruments to the event. Each school must supply its own ponchos/rain gear in case of inclement weather. Water for the event will be provided, but bands/students will need to supply their own jugs or bottles!
