Our department strives to be a collaborative and innovative environment in which diversity, equity and inclusion is championed and celebrated. We are committed to enacting change and being a department that is anti-racist and anti-oppressive. Our faculty and staff are engaged in ongoing professional development with external inclusivity experts and each program is examining their curriculum to ensure a global perspective is foundational. We welcome a diversity of perspectives and invite a free exchange of artistic and intellectual viewpoints. We were honored to receive the 2018 Department of the Year by the Elon Gender and LGBTQIA Center as well as having two of our faculty members awarded with the Faculty/Staff of the Year. We are continuing the Art through an Inclusive Lens Series that we began in 2018-2019 and look forward to our continued collaboration with The Center for Race, Ethnicity & Diversity Education in the upcoming academic year.
