Abstract: This voter guide highlights different policy priorities and approaches to handling interconnected issues, reflecting the ongoing tension between public safety, individual rights, and systemic inequalities in the U.S. The 2024 presidential candidates’ policies in the areas of crime, justice, and public safety will be evaluated. it specifically focuses on key issues such as recreational drug policy, the fentanyl crisis and opioid epidemic, policing and gun safety, criminal justice reform, and immigration and border security

 

 

 

 

Reproductive Health Voter Guide: 2024 Presidential Election

Abstract: Abortion and reproductive health have always been at the forefront of American politics, even more so now since the overturning of Roe v. Wade on June 24, 2022. With the election being incredibly close and abortion one of the top issues for young women (Kaiser Family Foundation Survey), each candidate is doing their best to win the vote of young women. Finding information on candidates’ stances can be particularly hard if they are from a third party and major candidates don’t put everything they say onto their website; because of these reasons, we have compiled a comprehensive document containing the four major candidates’ stances on abortion.

This guide provides concise summaries of each candidate, detailing their policy interests, age, educational backgrounds, and a neutral assessment of the three most pressing issues identified byNorth Carolina voters: public safety, the economy, and healthcare, as revealed by a poll from the North Carolina Center for Public Policy Research. By examining each candidate’s positions and initiatives regarding these critical topics, the guide emphasizes the importance of being well-informed as an engaged voter. Additionally, it outlines the roles and responsibilities of the governor, showcasing why local elections matter significantly in shaping policies that directly affect everyday life.
