The Undergraduate Conference on Languages and Cultures at Elon University (UCLC@Elon)

Elon University, Elon, North Carolina
Friday, September 19, 2025

This one-day conference will examine perspectives on world languages and cultures through a variety of opportunities: panels, poster sessions, professional development workshops, a keynote speaker and additional activities. Sessions at this year’s UCLC will reflect the conference’s theme, “The Future is/of World Languages and Cultures.” The 2025 UCLC theme is meant to invite participation from across languages, with opportunities for panels in the target language or English (traditional research presentations) and poster sessions or presentations in English related to aspects of world languages study including — but not limited to — literary, film, linguistics and cultural studies.

Our students represent the future of our field, and we aspire to create a space of exchange that demonstrates that the study of world languages and cultures opens doors to a bright future of intercultural understanding. We welcome paper and poster topics focusing on any time period, as well as interdisciplinary works with a strong focus on language and culture.
