Elon MBA Admissions Requirements & Procedures
Foundation Courses
The Elon MBA program requires that all students take foundation coursework in accounting and finance prior to enrolling in the core MBA accounting and finance courses. These two foundation classes are taught by Elon MBA faculty and are designed specifically to prepare students for the core MBA classes.
Students are not required to complete these foundation courses before they enroll in the regular MBA classes. You may take any classes that do not require accounting or finance as prerequisites.
Students who have prior coursework in accounting or finance are eligible to take placement exams, which, if passed, will enable the student to exempt this requirement. The assessment exams are available in both accounting and finance.
MS Business Graduate Degree Holders
Students entering the Elon MBA program with credit granted for prior coursework in a Masters-level business program will still be required to take the non-credit MBA 5010 Orientation sequence at the start of their program. Some students may also be required to take one or both foundation courses depending on credit granted for prior coursework. Placement exams are available to determine if a student will be required to take the foundation courses.
