Admissions
May I send you my transcripts, GMAT/GRE score or other supporting documents before I submit my application?
Yes, you may send documents to our office before submitting your application. All documents will be held for one year. Documents can be mailed to:

What are your deadlines for application submission?
Please submit all required application materials as early as possible, but no later than August 15 for the fall session and February 15 for the spring session.
Will you notify me if something is missing from my application?
Once your application is submitted you will be able to track your application via your status page. When you log on, you will be able to view the documents our office has received. It is your responsibility to request GMAT/GRE scores, transcripts, and recommendation letters. We will make an effort to contact you if your application is incomplete.
How quickly is an admission decision made?
All decisions are made on a rolling basis. Once all application materials have been received, a decision is typically rendered within two weeks.
How will I receive an admission decision?
All applicants will receive a letter in the mail notifying them of the admission committee’s decision.
MBA Coursework & Prerequisites
What sort of academic background do I need?
The Elon MBA is designed for students from any academic background. More than 60 percent of our students hold undergraduate degrees in fields other than business.
Is work experience required prior to admission?
Two years of professional work experience is required prior to admission. New graduates are encouraged to consider the M.S. in Business Analytics which is designed for new graduates and transitioning professionals.
Will I be required to take any prerequisite courses?
No prerequisite courses are required to begin the Elon MBA program. Two Foundations courses, one each in accounting and statistics, will need to be completed during the MBA program.
GMAT/GRE
If I take the GMAT/GRE test more than once, does the school average the scores or use the higher score?
If you take the GMAT multiple times, we will take the highest score. If you take the GRE multiple times, we will combine the highest scores from each section of your tests.
Is one test preferred over the other?
No, we encourage applicants to take the exam with which they are most comfortable.
Will having extensive work experience substitute for the GMAT/GRE?
Applicants with five or more years of work experience, or a graduate degree, or an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher may apply for a waiver.
Will having a graduate degree substitute for the GMAT/GRE?
This requirement may be waived if an applicant possesses a graduate degree or US graduate degree equivalent. To be reviewed for a GMAT/GRE waiver, prospective students must submit an application with supporting materials.
I meet the waiver criteria, am I automatically approved?
Qualified applicants can apply for waiver consideration. Please note that qualifying for a waiver does not automatically mean one will be granted. Decisions are communicated within two weeks of receiving all application materials.
Cost
What is the cost per credit hour?
The cost per credit hour for the 2024-2025 academic year is $1,206.
What additional expenses can I expect to incur while I am a student?
Other than tuition, there are very few expenses students will have to pay. Students will need to purchase books, but that cost varies per class. There is also a $10 parking permit fee. Additionally, if a student decides to study abroad, they will need to cover their portion of the trip.
