Job Description
There are many different kinds of lawyers who function in many different roles, but generally speaking, a lawyer will:
Advise and represent clients in courts, before government agencies, and in private legal matters. Communicate with their clients, colleagues, judges, and others involved in the case. Conduct research and analysis of legal problems. Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses

How Can I Prepare
- Study and take the LSAT and explore J.D. programs
- Explore the Elon Law program
- If interested in a specific type of law, explore related classes (e.g. BUS 2210 Legal and Ethical Business or COM 4000 Media Law and Ethics)
- Take courses included in Elon’s Pre-Law Program
- Join Phi Alpha Delta, a pre-law student organization
- Join AMTA, the governing body for intercollegiate mock trial competition
- Join North Carolina Student Legislature
