Elon Business Fellows engage in a comprehensive four-year career development process with the Porter Family Professional Development Center.

First Year

Fall

  • Complete the Interest Survey sent from the Porter Center to share your professional interests
  • Attend Resume Review, LinkedIn and StrengthsQuest presentations in Elon 1010 class
  • Submit resume via Google drop by deadline in early December

Spring

  • Complete LinkedIn assignment (creating a profile) before Spring Break
  • Attend internship panel hosted by the LSB Director of Internships

Summer

  • Complete Big Interview assignment by due date sent from the Porter Center
  • Network with alumni, family and friends

Second Year

Fall

  • Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics and Economic Consulting majors meet 1:1 with a Porter Center career advisor before Fall Break to discuss resume updates and professional interests
  • Update resume before Sophomore Success
  • Attend Sophomore Success, scheduled in late October/early November

Spring

  • Marketing, Project Management, Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and International Business majors meet 1:1 with a Porter Center career advisor before Spring Break
  • Attend Business Fellows trip preparation workshop
  • Actively engage with employers on the Business Fellows trip

Summer

  • Submit resume and LinkedIn profile for review by due date sent from Porter Center

Third Year

Fall

  • Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics and Economic Consulting majors meet 1:1 with a Porter Center career advisor before Fall Break to update your interests and discuss your internship search
  • Attend at least one professional development event

Spring

  • All students who are still pursuing an internship must update Dr. Das regularly
  • Marketing, Project Management, Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and International Business majors meet 1:1 with a Porter Center career advisor before Spring Break to update your interests and discuss your internship search
  • Attend at least one professional development event

Summer

  • Update LinkedIn profile with current internship in preparation for full-time job search

Fourth Year

Fall/Spring

  • All students who are still seeking a post-grad opportunity must update Dr. Das regularly AND meet 1:1 with a Porter Center career advisor
  • Report any accepted offers to Dr. Das and the Porter Center
  • Complete the First Destination Survey when it’s emailed in late spring
