Dean’s Student Advisory Board

The dean convenes the student advisory board two times every semester to gather student feedback and input on issues important to the School of Communications. The board comprises students from all class years and majors, and their work helps the dean make student-centered decisions. You can learn more about the group via the bios below.


Lauren Boulia

Lauren Boulia '25

Lauren Boulia is from Cary, North Carolina. She is double majoring in Cinema and Television Arts and Communication Design with a minor in Business Administration. Lauren serves as the station manager for Elon Student Television, the student-run organization that’s home to game shows, sketch comedy, talk shows and stand-up comedy.

Aaron Chan, Elon University student

Aaron Chan '26

Aaron Chan is a Cinema and Television Arts major from Clayton, North Carolina, with a minor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He is passionate about using documentary filmmaking to tell stories about people making a meaningful impact in their communities. As the co-founder and producer at Seismic Studios, a student-run production company, Aaron applies his skills in film to serve clients in the area. He also serves as a student director at the Center for Design Thinking, where he helps lead initiatives focused on problem-solving and human-centered design.

Coral Clark

Coral Clark '25

Coral Clark is double majoring in Public Health and Strategic Communications. With a passion for health communications, she conducts Lumen research to increase visibility for the disabled birthing population and addresses maternal health disparities. On campus, she serves as the editor-in-chief of Phi Psi Cli yearbook, president of The Women’s Network-Elon and community director for Honors Fellows.

Sarah Dawkins

Sarah Dawkins '25

Sarah Dawkins is double majoring in Sport Management and Economics. With a keen interest in the sports industry, Sarah aims to build a career in sport business operations following her graduation. On campus, she is involved in many student organizations, most notably serving as the president of the Elon Irish Dance Team. Additionally, she is an active participant in Elon’s undergraduate research program, where she studies the perceived economic and social impacts of sport facilities and events on their host communities.

Colin Dorroh

Colin Dorroh '27

Colin Dorroh is a Communications Fellow, majoring in Cinema and Television Arts. He spends most of his time finding opportunities to develop his cinematography skills, from taking on various roles at Cinelon Productions, where he works on the executive board as training coordinator, to serving as creative video student producer for Elon Athletics.

Ahron Frankel

Ahron Frankel '26

Ahron Frankel is a Strategic Communications major with a minor in Peace and Conflict Studies. He has a strong passion for music and hopes to pursue a career in music business and promotion. Ahron is currently the general manager of WSOE 89.3 FM, a multifaith intern at the Truitt Center for Religious Life, and an active member of Students for Peace and Justice.

Sallie Gliarmis, Elon University student

Sallie Gliarmis '25

Sallie Gliarmis is from Wilson, North Carolina. She is a Cinema and Television Arts major, with a minor in Psychology. Sallie is the School of Communications senator for the Student Government Association, acting as the voice of communications students. She is also involved in Greek life and club sports on campus.

Claire Gormley

Claire Gormley '25

Claire Gormley is double majoring in Strategic Communications and Media Analytics with a minor in Political Science. Post-graduation, Claire hopes to pursue a career in political communications. She is the brand engagement chair for the Student Union Board, where she manages its various social media. She is also a member of Phi Beta Phi.

Abby Gravely

Abby Gravely '27

Abby Gravely is an Honors Fellow and Journalism major from Richmond, Virginia. She currently serves as a reporter and anchor at Elon News Network, primarily working for the weekly live broadcast. She is a mentor for Elon’s Emerging Journalists Program and, through her off-campus job, has experience with video and photo editing, as well as graphic design. Outside the School of Communications, she is a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority and a team lead for a volunteer-run summer camp.

Kate Gray

Kate Gray '28

Kate Gray is a Communications Fellow from Silver Spring, Maryland, who plans to double major in Journalism and Political Science. Kate is training with Elon News Network in written and broadcast media, and is most interested in news and lifestyle reporting. She is in the Paideia Living Learning Community and is also a member of Elon’s club swim team and Spectrum.

Ashley Josey

Ashley Josey '25

Ashley Josey is a Communications Fellow with a passion for purpose-driven design. She fuses creativity with collaboration a University Innovation Fellow, Truitt Center intern and registered yoga instructor with the Elon Yoga Club. From New Zealand to Costa Rica, she’s developed her love for intercultural communications in a variety of community-based experiences along her journey as a visual storyteller. She takes every day as a new opportunity to co-create a better future through intentional action.

Donelle Leak

Donelle Leak '25

Donelle Leak is a Strategic Communications major with minors in Psychology and Human Resource Management. She is an account executive at Live Oak Communications. Through internships and Elon experiences, she has experience in public relations, internal communications and social media management. She is completing a communications-focused honors thesis on the impacts of the lack of diverse representation in influencer marketing.

Morgan Minoff

Morgan Minoff '26

Morgan Minoff is a Communications Fellow majoring in Strategic Communications with minors in Business Administration and Sport Management. On campus, Morgan serves as the representative for the School of Communications in the Student Government Association. She also holds an on-campus job at Elon’s Technology Service Desk.

Lilly Molina

Lilly Molina '27

Lilly Molina is an Odyssey Scholar and Communications Fellow. She is a double major in Journalism and Media Analytics and a minor in Peace and Conflict Studies. She is a student reporter for Elon News Network and teaches conversation classes at El Centro. In her free time, Lilly likes to work out, DJ and thrift.

Alexa Morrissey

Alexa Morrissey '25

Alexa Morrissey is a Communications Fellow pursuing a degree in Strategic Communications with minors in Dance and Leadership Studies. She serves as the agency director for Live Oak Communications, the student-run PR agency on campus. In this leadership role, Alexa guides a team of students in developing and executing strategic campaigns for a variety of local clients, with a focus on social media strategy, media relations and brand development. Additionally, she is the vice president of membership for Alpha Xi Delta, where she oversees overall member development and leads weekly team meetings.

Emily Novak

Emily Novak '27

Emily Novak is from Cape Elizabeth, Maine. She’s majoring in Communication Design with double minors in Professional Sales and Digital Art. She has a dedication to graphic design and is passionate about her work. On campus, Emily serves as director of interactive media for Elonthon and social media coordinator for Elon Motorsports. In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time with her friends, reading and listening to her favorite artists.

Caleb Orcutt

Caleb Orcutt '25

Caleb Orcutt is majoring in Cinema and Television Arts. He has been a member of management for Elon Student Television since his sophomore year and works in a leadership and mentor role. He now works as a student adviser for the School of Communications and has experience in screenwriting and creative writing.

Emanuel Peralta

Emanuel Parada Peralta is a Sport Management and Business Analytics major. Passionate about analytics and sports, he hopes to grow the sports industry through analytics. On campus, he is the vice president of La Unidad Latina Lambda Upsilon Incorporated, a Communications Fellow and an Odyssey Scholar.

Charlotte Pfabe

Charlotte Pfabe '27

Charlotte Pfabe is a Communications Fellow, studying broadcast and multimedia journalism, with a minor in music production and recording arts. Pfabe’s passion for storytelling is reflected in her work with Elon News Network as a reporter and the producer of “ENN On Air.” She is also the secretary-treasurer for Elon’s chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Pfabe works with WSOE 89.3 as the outreach director, promoting the station across the local community and organizing campus events. During the fall semester, Pfabe served as an orientation leader and is currently a peer educator, mentoring new Elon students.

Zoe Pighet

Zoe Pighet is a Cinema and Television Arts major. She is an active member of the Cinelon film club and a photographer for the Phoenix Fashion Magazine.

Taylor Radney

Taylor Radney '28

Taylor Radney is from Flemington, New Jersey. She is majoring in Strategic Communications. On Campus, Taylor works with Elon News Network as part of the newspaper design team and the social media and analytics team. In her free time, Taylor likes to watch movies, write and listen to music.

Denise Simmons

Denise Simmons '25

Denise Simmons is pursuing her B.A in Communication Design and her M.A. in Interactive Media. She is an Odyssey Scholar and a first-generation student. Denise has a strong passion for design and technology, and works as a student developer and UX designer for Elon Enterprise Solutions.

Avery Sloan

Avery Sloan '25

Avery Sloan is studying journalism with minors in political science and leadership studies. She is the executive director of Elon News Network and the managing editor of The Pendulum, ENN’s weekly paper. She has previously been a Pulitzer Center reporting fellow, traveling to Copenhagen to report on Denmark’s prison system, and has been a reporting intern for INDY Week, an alt-weekly paper in Durham. Additionally, she is a Leadership Fellow and works at the Moseley Front Desk.

Bernardo Vargas Lopez

Bernardo Vargas Lopez '26

Bernardo Vargas Lopez, hailing from Mexico City, is currently pursuing a major in Sport Management coupled with a minor in Entrepreneurship. Bernardo actively contributes to the campus community through his role as a Maker Hub specialist at the Center for Design Thinking. His involvement in this innovative space reflects his dedication to combining his passion for sports, entrepreneurial spirit and love for creative problem-solving.

Lauren Winslow is a Communications Fellow at Elon University, double majoring in Sport Management and Strategic Communications, with a minor in Political Science. She has been actively involved in the School of Communications, serving as a marketing and communications strategist for Turner Theatre, a production worker for Elon Sports Vision and an account executive at Live Oak Communications. Lauren aims to leverage her studies and experiences at Elon to pursue a career in the sports industry, focusing on social media and marketing.

Mia Zebley

Mia Zebley is a Communications Fellow, double majoring in Sport Management and Media Analytics. As the audience engagement manager for Elon News Network, she oversees the social media and analytics teams. Active in various sports-related roles, Mia creates graphics for Elon Sports Vision, hosts and analyzes games for WSOE 89.3, and is a member of WINS and Sport Management Society. Mia’s involvement relates to her love of sports and her desire to learn more about the growing industry.
