Published in the Journal of Issues in Intercollegiate Athletics, International Journal of Sport Communication, Journal of Contemporary Athletics, and Gender in Management: An International Journal, and has presented numerous papers at various conferences. Recipient of the Journal of Issues in Intercollegiate Athletics 2016 Outstanding Article Award. Prior to Elon, worked as a graduate teaching assistant at The Ohio State University and brings five years of experience in Division I college athletics as a softball coach at Georgia Tech, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Former North Carolina State University student-athlete. Teaching and research interests lay in the general area of work-life interface, organizational behavior, research methods, leadership, and collegiate athletics. Came to Elon in 2015.

Worked at ESPN for seven years in both the Research and Analytics and International Ad Sales departments, collaborating closely with ESPN offices in Mexico, South America, Europe, Australia and Asia. Author of the book The Guidebook Experiment and the Kindle Single Greetings from Myanmar. Has published research in Newspaper Research Journal, Asian Journal of Communication, and Journalism & Mass Communication Educator and presented research papers at AEJMC, ICA and others. Teaching, writing and research interests include the media business, sports, history and travel. Came to Elon in 2014.

Worked for over twenty years in professional sports, amateur sports, recreation and public relations. Spent four years as GM of the Cleveland Indians affiliate in Burlington, North Carolina and later served as athletic director for the Burlington Recreation & Parks Department for five years. Previous work experience includes marketing, sales and management duties in the NHL, minor league baseball and hockey. Worked in publicity for two New York-based agencies with clients including heavyweight boxing champion Riddick Bowe, speedskater Dan Jansen and the Meadowlands Grand Prix. Author of Cradle of the Game: Baseball & Ballparks in North Carolina (August Publications, 2008, 2nd Ed. 2014). A founder of the Coastal Plain League. Served as Chairman of the Alamance County Tourism Development Authority and is a past board member of Alamance-Burlington Sports Development Council, Piedmont Carolinas Red Cross, and Alamance Partnership for Children. Areas of interest and research include physical activity programs for underserved youth and the business of baseball. Leads Winter Term study abroad class to the Dominican Republic, studying the business of baseball and the tourism industry. Began as an adjunct at Elon in 2007 and joined the faculty full-time in 2012.

Young Do Kim received his Ph.D. in Sport Management from Florida State University. He teaches Sport Marketing and Finance courses at Elon. His primary research area lies in the realm of sport marketing and consumer behavior. His research has been published in International Journal of Sports Marketing and Sponsorship, Journal of Marketing for Higher Education, and Sustainability and Sports Science Journal. Prior to Elon, he worked as an assistant professor of Sport Management at University of Nebraska Kearney, graduate teaching assistant and Instructional Excellence Teaching Associate at Florida State University, and game operations manager of the Women’s Korean Basketball League. He also served as an U18 Korean National Hockey team captain, 1997-1998 Heritage Junior Hockey League in Canada All-Star team, and Korean National Hockey team at the Poprad-Tatry, Slovakia Winter Universiade in 1999.

Dr. Lucia has over 20 years of experience in collegiate recreation and higher education. She served as President for NIRSA: Leaders in Collegiate Recreation from May 2021 to April 2022. She received her master’s degree in Recreation Administration from Central Michigan University. After receiving her master’s she worked as the Coordinator of Facilities for University Recreation before pursuing a doctoral degree. Dr. Lucia received her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies with an emphasis in Higher Education from Virginia Tech where she served as a Graduate Assistant in the Dean of Students Office and as an adjunct faculty at Radford University in the Recreation, Parks and Leisure program. Her first full-time faculty position was for the Sport and Recreation Management program at James Madison University where she taught in the undergraduate program and college student development theory for the campus recreation graduate program. She is now an Associate Professor at Elon University in Sport Management.

Senior VP for Strategic Planning at News Corporation. Co-founder and CEO of Sportvision, which invented the Emmy-winning First and Ten yellow line for football telecasts and K-Zone for baseball telecasts. Named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for NYC in the Media category in 2001. Head of new media for IMG North America, 2003-6. President of Bloomberg Sports, the leader in sports data and analytics services, sold to Vista Equity Partners in 2015. Adjunct professor at Georgetown Law School, Cardozo Law School, Columbia University and Washington University in St. Louis. Board of Trustees, Coro New York Leadership Center and Our Energy Policy Foundation.

Worked in various roles within college athletics related to sales and fundraising, including at The United States Military Academy at West Point, before pursuing a doctoral degree at the University of Northern Colorado. His primary research interest focuses on the economics and finance of sport. His other research interest centers on consumer behavior, specifically examining game attendance and television ratings at the college and professional levels. He has articles published in various journals across disciplines and has presented at several national conferences.

Earned Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Sport Management from Louisiana State University in 2013 & 2017. Arrived at Elon in 2022 after completing five academic years at Ball State University as an Assistant Professor of Sport Administration.
