About Academic Council

Welcome to the new and improved Academic Council website. Academic Council is the coordinating committee of the faculty and deliberates on any matter within the province of the faculty for the purpose of formulating general policy for approval or disapproval of the faculty.

We encourage you to begin with Article VI of the Faculty Handbook, a portal to six detailed sections about  Council’s  duties:

While the Faculty Handbook remains the mechanism via which official policies are communicated to the faculty, this website is intended as a resource for faculty and other employees interested in contributing to the university’s shared governance structure.
