Scholar Fiscal Information
Multifaith Scholars receive $5000 in scholarship funding in their junior and senior years, for a total of $10,000 over their final two years.1 Scholars can apply their scholarship funds to their tuition bills, use them to support research expenses and activities (paid out as reimbursements after the submission of original receipts), or elect to do some combination of these things (i.e., allocate part of their funds to their tuition bill and use some to pay for research costs).
The fiscal year at Elon runs from June 1 to May 31, so each year’s scholarship funding must be used/allocated in that period. More specifically, funds must either be spent or applied to a scholar’s tuition bill by May 1 of each year. A student can carry a positive balance forward on their tuition bill from the junior to the senior year, but funds must have been allocated to the bill by May 1 for this to happen.
