Position Title: Graduate Apprentice for the Student Professional Development Center

Department: Student Professional Development Center

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise students representing all undergraduate majors one-on-one on career exploration and development, resume and cover letter preparation, interview techniques, and networking skills through scheduled appointments
  • Either co-teach or support Transition Strategies (career development) 1-hour for-credit class
  • Present to first/second year required business class “Gateway to Business” classes every semester on the topics of resume development, interviewing, and LinkedIn and support grading initiatives for multiple sections
  • Facilitate workshops on resume writing, job/internship search and networking for classes, student organizations and/or residential communities
  • Conduct brief (10-15 minute), one-on-one, “Drop-in Hours” appointments with students across campus and in residential communities
  • Assist office with professional development and employer engagement events such as the Job & Internship Expo, Business Job and Internship Fair, STEM Meet and Greet, on-campus recruiting activities, and employer information sessions
