Elon-in “Center” Programs
These signature opportunities both abroad and stateside integrate global engagement into your Elon experience. At these Center programs, you’ll study alongside fellow students and a faculty member on these customized programs.
Approved External “Affiliate” Programs
Take part in a pre-approved external study abroad program, also known as an “affiliate”, that has been vetted to ensure it aligns with Elon University standards for study abroad. These trusted providers allow students to transfer credit back to Elon and take their financial aid overseas.
Exchange
Enroll directly in classes at one of Elon’s overseas partner universities. These programs offer opportunities for direct cultural immersion, permitting students to make the most of their time abroad while also receiving credit from some of the best universities in the world.
Dual-Degree Programs
Elon’s International Business Dual Degree is a unique four-year program designed for students who want a truly global education and have strong interests in living, working and studying business for two years at Elon and for two years at one of our four partner schools abroad. The program offers you the opportunity to study international business in two cultures, giving you a competitive edge in the global marketplace.
Global Start
Elon Global Start (EGS) is a first semester abroad opportunity offering a path to full-time, degree-seeking enrollment for students in the spring semester. The program is designed to meet the needs of students ineligible for regular admission who wish to join the Elon community in North Carolina.
Other Global Experiential Opportunities
If you plan to arrange your own academic internship for transfer credit, or conduct independent research or an independent study abroad, you need GEC approval. Use this resource to learn more about internship credit.
Non-Elon Petitions
You are required to attend Elon-vetted programs unless there is a compelling academic reason not to. If you choose to explore non-Elon programs, you must complete a petition and work with GEC staff to ensure the merit, requirements, and safety of the program.
