DPT Scholarships and Grants

Elon Scholarships

Amount: $7,500- 20,000 per year

A limited number of Elon DPT scholarships will be awarded to students who have demonstrated academic ability and talent as well as enthusiasm and commitment to the physical therapy profession. Every admitted student will be considered for scholarship in light of all academic work, GRE scores, letters of recommendation, interview scores, and demonstrated leadership ability. Students will be notified of their award at the time of acceptance if selected. Students who receive a scholarship are required to maintain good academic and professional standing in the program.

Yellow Ribbon Program

Amount: $5,000

Elon’s DPT program is participating in the federal government’s Yellow Ribbon Program, designed to assist post-9/11 veterans with secondary and post-secondary educational opportunities. Elon’s DPT program will contribute $5,000 to three post-9/11 veterans on a first-come, first-serve basis, which will be matched by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

External Scholarships

There are a number of external agencies and institutions which offer scholarships for graduate education – some are based on discipline and area of focus, and others are dedicated to supporting niche groups within the workforce for development. Scholarships can come from a range of sources, so it’s a good idea to search online for opportunities that may be a fit for you. The following websites are excellent resources to help you find potential scholarships:

  • CareerOneStop.org: Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor, CareerOneStop.org is a database of over 8,000 scholarship, grant and fellowship opportunities. You can narrow your search by keyword, location and level of study.
  • FastWeb: FastWeb is one of the best-known sites for scholarships. You can search for available scholarships, but you can also create a student profile. The site will send you scholarships that match your information.
  • Scholarships.com: Scholarships.com is a database of over 3.7 million scholarships and grants. You can create a profile and get matched to potential opportunities from colleges, private companies, nonprofit organizations and government agencies.
