H.O.P.E. Clinic 5k

Join us for the 2024 Race for HOPE 5k, a virtual and in-person fundraiser aimed at bringing the community together for a fun-filled morning while raising funds and awareness for the Health Outreach Program at Elon (HOPE). The HOPE clinic is a student-managed physical therapy clinic that serves the underinsured and uninsured in Alamance County, NC and surrounding areas by providing free physical therapy services. Since opening in November of 2013, the clinic has saved the community over $302,691.32 in medical costs and has seen over 1,838 patients! Whether you plan to run, walk, or cheer from the sidelines, your support helps make a difference in our community!

Event Details:

Date: Sunday, September 29th

Time: Race starts at 9:30 am

Location: Springwood Park in Burlington, NC (1450 Springwood Church Rd)

Distance: 3.1 miles (5k)

Proceeds: All proceeds from the 5k will be used to provide certified medical interpreters for clinic nights, clinic equipment to best meet our patients’ needs, and clinicians to supervise and mentor our students!

Registration (September 6th – September 28th): $30

Day-Of Registration (September 29th): $35

**Shipping (all virtual registrants will have the option to have their shirt directly shipped to their desired mailing address or coordinate someone to pick up their shirt at the designated race packet-pickup in Elon/Burlington NC): $8

– Additional Raffle Tickets for Raffle Baskets (to be picked up at packet pick-up, additional raffle tickets will also be sold on-site at the race): $3 for 1 ticket, $5 for 2 tickets, $10 for 5 tickets, $20 for 15 tickets

**All raffle ticket holders must be present on race day, September 29th, to submit their tickets into the drawing for raffle baskets.

Race Day/Packet Pick-Up Schedule

– Packet Pick-Up: Sunday, September 29th from 9:00am -9:30am at the Springwood Park  Women of the Chamber Outdoor Shelter (1450 Springwood Church Rd, Burlington, NC 27216)

– Race Start: 9:30 am in the front of the Springwood Women of the Chamber Outdoor Shelter

– Post-Race Celebration: 10:00am-12:30pm, more details to come in the pre-race email update

Course Map:

Parking: Parking will be available in the parking lots within Springwood Park.

Directions: The park is located at the corner of Springwood Church Road and Whitsett Park Road, a short drive from both Highway 70 and I-85/40.

Awards and Prizes: Awards will be given to the top age group finishers!

Safety and Rules

– Weather Policy: Registration fees for the Race for HOPE 5k are nonrefundable, regardless of weather conditions, including rain or any other adverse weather. The event will proceed as planned rain or shine unless conditions are deemed unsafe by the organizers or officers on site and thus the participants will be promptly notified. In such a case, the race will not be rescheduled and an alternate date for race shirt pick-up will be determined, but no refunds will be issued.

– Course safety: For the safety of all participants, please follow the course markers and directions from race officials.

– Prohibited Items: All weapons, alcohol, bicycles, rollerbladers/skates and scooters.
