Intro & Core Curriculum Courses for First-Year Students
Course Lists
We recommend that students mainly focus on 1000 and 2000 level classes in their first semester. Students with higher World Language placements should continue at the appropriate level. Otherwise, you will notice that these course lists focus on 1000 and 2000 level classes.
Notice for Class of 2029
The Class of 2029 class schedule has not yet been published. Check back in late April 2025 for the most updated classes. You can use these as a guide but they are subject to change.
Elon Core Curriculum Lists
We prepared lists of classes for the four categories in the Studies in the Arts & Sciences. This large group amounts to 32 of the 56 to 60 semester hours needed in the Elon Core Curriculum. Most students completed at least one of these topics in their first semester:

First-Year Student Only Sections Fall 2025
These sections are available only to incoming, first-year students. The list indicates if the course is an intro to major class and/or Elon Core Curriculum course.
Intro to Major or Minor and Self-Interest Courses

HealthEU courses are wellness courses that involve many different topics of holistic wellbeing, including healthy eating, nonviolent communication, and meditation. In addition, HEU courses also include physical activities like golf, kayaking, water aerobics, and pickleball. HEU courses are 1 or 2 credits and so are a great addition to your schedule.
