Major Declaration
Major Declaration
All students enter Elon University as undeclared even if they have identified a major path. New transfer students may declare their major at the start of their time at Elon University. New first-year students must wait to declare their major until the end of their first semester on-campus.
Before declaring your major for the first time or updating your major(s) and minor(s), please review our Major Declaration FAQs. These can be found on the left-hand navigator.
New First-Year Students:
Major declaration for new first-year students enrolled in ELN 1010 begins on Monday, November 18th, 2024.
New Advisors for Current ELN 1010 Students
New FY students declaring their major starting on November 18th or later will not receive a new advisor in their academic major until after the conclusion of their ELN 1010 course.
How to Declare:
Start by accessing the Major Declaration form. The video tutorial below demonstrates how to use the updated major declaration system to declare your major(s) and minor(s).
Minors
Students already declared in a minor may use the same link for major declaration, whether they are adding or deleting a minor. Please check the Academic Catalog to determine any majors that also require an additional major or minor.
