Neighborhood Leadership
Colonnades, Danieley, East, Global, Historic, and the Oaks are neighborhoods that are led by a Faculty Director (an Elon faculty member who lives in residence), Community Director (a residence life professional staff member who lives in residence), and Program Assistant (a residence life staff member who manages the residential neighborhood office). Some neighborhoods have Graduate Apprentices living in residence and other faculty living in the neighborhood as Faculty-in-Residence. Together, the Community Director and Faculty Director in these six neighborhoods oversee the development of the intellectual and social identity of the community. As Co-Chairs of their Neighborhood Association, they work with other faculty, staff, and students connected to the neighborhood to bring programs, events, and experiences related to the neighborhood’s theme and goals into their residential community.
Loy Neighborhood consists of fraternity and sorority chapter houses and is overseen by the Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Community Development. Station at Mill Point is led by its Community Director who works closely with academic affairs and student life to bring faculty and staff into the neighborhood for programming that fits the needs of juniors and seniors planning for careers, post-graduate studies, and life after Elon.
