Global Neighborhood Visiting Scholar Apartment

We invite departments to host visiting scholars in the guest apartment located in the Global Neighborhood. This conveniently located, one-bedroom on-campus apartment is an excellent option for departments that bring visiting scholars to campus for brief or extended periods.

Requests should fulfill the expectations listed below and be submitted via the Visiting Scholar Apartment Request Form, which will be reviewed and considered for approval by the Assistant Vice President for Campus Life and the Assistant Dean of Campus Life and Director of Residence Life.

GUESTS

Visiting scholars are individuals who are experts in their field and will share their interests with residents, faculty, and staff in a variety of ways.

Visiting scholars who stay 5 or more days are responsible for at least one event per week for residential students outside of the classroom, in addition to any time spent engaging students in the classroom. Suggested events and programs include workshops, discussions, field trips, films, dinners, informal conversations, or other relevant experiences related to their field of study. The host department should coordinate these programs with the Faculty Director and Community Director of the Global Neighborhood and submit a schedule of activities with the request.

LENGTH OF STAY

Visiting scholars are welcome for short-term stay, generally between 1 and 30 days.
