For three consecutive years, Elon has been the top-ranked national university for undergraduate teaching by U.S. News & World Report, leading a group of outstanding universities committed to teaching excellence. U.S. News also ranks Elon as the No. 13 most innovative national university.

For the ninth straight year, Elon is the leader in the “Programs to Look For” feature — the only college or university ranked in all eight categories of academic programs linked to student success and positive learning outcomes. These include learning communities (No. 1), first-year experiences (No. 1), service learning (No. 3), study abroad (No. 4), internships/co-ops (No. 8), senior capstone (No. 9), undergraduate research/creative projects (No. 11) and writing in the disciplines (No. 12).

Elon is ranked No. 1 among doctoral universities in the percentage of undergraduate students who participate in study abroad in the Institute of International Education’s 2023 Open Doors Report, with the highest percentage in Elon’s history at 87.8%.

In its “The Best 389 Colleges: 2024 Edition” list, The Princeton Review ranks Elon the No. 8 best-run college in the country, with the university recognized for excellence in academic, student life and student preparation programs as well.

Elon’s undergraduate business degree program ranks No. 39 in the nation in the 2023 survey by business education news outlet Poets&Quants. Among private colleges and universities, Elon’s program ranks No. 24.

The Princeton Review listed Elon Law among the best in the nation in its 2023 edition of “The Best 168 Law Schools.” The ranking includes student reflections that praise the law faculty and staff’s commitment to a student-centered, highly experiential education
