Research/Creative Interests

I am currently directing the Abortion & Religion Project, which is a large qualitative research project interviewing Christian, Jewish, and Muslim people having abortions in the US. I also have an ongoing research agenda related to economic ethics, critiques of capitalism/neoliberalism, and the ethics of a solidarity economics and other community-centered forms of economic activity.

Research/Creative Needs

Research support for the Abortion & Religion Project includes reviewing interview transcripts, administrative support for the project (scheduling interviews, etc.), and assistance/support in coding).

Mentoring Style

  • One-on-one or in small groups, depending on the project
  • I typically work with multiple students; some of them are on the same project
  • I work with individual students with overlapping interests

I can mentor a student enrolled in 4998/4999 hours during these semesters:

  • Fall 2023
  • Winter 2024
  • Spring 2024

Student Qualifications

  • 1) Students will work with feminist theory; intersectionality (race, gender, class intersections); qualitative research.
  • 2) My work in social justice and ethics focuses on historically marginalized communities and I enjoy mentoring students who share that concern and/or who come from those communities.
