Research/Creative Interests

My research interests are discrimination, health inequities, social environment, migration, and mental health. My work focuses on Middle East and North African (MENA) communities in the US and Germany.

What types of “data” do you commonly use?

I use both qualitative and quantitative data and have also done mixed methods research (combining the two). I have done mainly primary data collection with surveys, interviews, and focus groups. I have not done much work with secondary data, though am open to it.

What types of collaborations are you open to?

I am happy to collaborate with students on their own projects or bring them into ones I am working on. I am also open to working with faculty and staff on multidisciplinary projects.

What agencies, organizations, or foundations do you have experience with to apply for grants?

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation

Student Qualifications

  • Students wanting to learn and expand their knowledge around health issues
  • Students interested in working with MENA populations
  • I am interested in mentoring students from historically marginalized backgrounds.
