Graduate students are welcome to visit The Writing Center for any assignment and for any stage of the writing process.

  • Writing Center Appointments: Trained undergraduate students are available to meet with graduate students on their writing.
    • Due to the length or complexity of graduate students’ writing assignments, we recommend making longer (45 or 60 minute) appointments. You can schedule an appointment here.
    • If you would like a recommendation for a specific consultant, email jbleakney@elon.edu.
    • We can occasionally offer online appointments for graduate students who are on placement or taking online courses and living elsewhere. Email jbleakney@elon.edu to schedule.
  • Asynchronous Draft Review: The Writing Center is piloting an asynchronous program to provide written feedback on graduate students’ drafts during fall, winter, and spring terms.
    • We can review one draft of each assignment through the Draft Review program.
    • Please give us up to 72 hours to prepare the written feedback for you.
    • We have a limited number of appointments available each week.
    • To read the guidelines and submit your work, go to this Google form.
  • Co-work and Coffee: The Writing Center partners with Learning Assistance to plan workshops and schedule informal co-working sessions for graduate students. Learning Assistance’s Graduate Student Support page has more information about these programs.
  • Individual Consultations: Contact Dr. Julia Bleakney, the Director of The Writing Center, if you need help accessing or utilizing these resources.
