Special committees of the Board are created as warranted to provide guidance to the Board and university leadership on a particular topic or issue.
COVID-19 Response ad hoc Committee
Chair: Burney Jennings
Reporting directly to the chair of the Board, this ad hoc committee of trustees serves as an advisory group and resource for university leaders facing decisions related to coronavirus. The objective of the committee is to preserve and advance the mission of the university for the long term, while mitigating the impact of the coronavirus outbreak on the current community to the fullest extent possible.

Ad-hoc Working Group on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Chair: Chris Martin
The ad-hoc working group has a two-fold focus: First, the working group will advise the Board on diversity, equity, and inclusion matters, including assessment and the planning of specific actionable opportunities in alignment with Board discussions. Second, the working group will identify and advise the Board of other potential opportunities to further advance this important work. The ad hoc working group reports directly to the Chair of the Board.
