Requirements

Applicants must be rising juniors or seniors in good academic and judicial standing, be available to work full-time on campus during Winter Term, and demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality.

Students who wish to apply for the Executive Internship Program should complete the general background information section, list three professional references (including one faculty member), answer two short-answer questions, attach a one-page resume, and a one-page cover letter explaining their interest in the program. Applications are due by Friday, April 5 at 5:00 p.m. and can either be submitted online via the application below or emailed directly to presidentsoffice@elon.edu.

Timeline

Fall Semester

During the Fall Semester, students are required to meet with their supervisor, attend orientation and other planned activities. With their supervisor, interns will discuss the planned projects for their assigned department and set goals for Winter Term.

Winter Term

The internship is concentrated during Winter Term as interns work with their supervisor and respective offices to collaborate and complete assigned projects. Winter Term is a full-time 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday commitment. Interns work with senior leadership members and their departments, attend meetings, conducts research and interact with other interns while working to complete projects.

Spring Semester

During the Spring Semester, interns will reflect upon their experiences. Interns will present their projects, as determined by their supervisor, and conclude any additional requirements. Interns participate in the application and interview process for next class of interns.
