Elon was founded in 1889, and its core values have remained constant throughout history: close relationships between faculty and students, a culture that supports constant innovation, and a strong sense of community. At Elon, more than 7,000 students learn through hands-on experiences and close working relationships with faculty and staff whose priorities are teaching and mentoring. The curriculum is grounded in the liberal arts and sciences with emphasis on global experiences and career development. More than 70 undergraduate majors are complemented by professional and graduate programs in law, business, education and health care.
Elon’s academic divisions include Elon College, the College of Arts and Sciences; the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business; the School of Communications; the Dr. Jo Watts Williams School of Education; the School of Health Sciences; and the School of Law, located in Greensboro, N.C.
Located in beautiful central North Carolina, Elon offers six full-time graduate programs: M.S. in Business Analytics, M.S. in Accounting, PA, DPT, M.A. in Higher Education, and Law. Two part-time programs are also offered: M.Ed. and MBA as well as our new Health Care Analytics Graduate Certificate. The School of Law is located in vibrant downtown Greensboro, which serves as a hub of the judicial system in North Carolina.
Inclusive Excellence
All members of the Elon community have a shared responsibility to act deliberately toward equitable outcomes. Inclusive Excellence is Elon’s framing of diversity, equity, inclusion, and other constructs that support belonging and well-being, resulting in the creation of a community where people strive to dismantle oppression and where individuals flourish.
Sustainability
Sustainability is an institution-wide effort and a part of the Boldly Elon strategic plan. Elon’s success in achieving its sustainability goals largely depends upon every member of the campus community taking an active role. From operations to educational programs, sustainability is integrated throughout campus and campus life. Elon’s environmental sustainability efforts are guided by the Sustainability Master Plan.
HealthEU
The HealthEU initiative aims to empower every individual in our community to actively implement and integrate wellness values in their daily lives, with their peers and in their greater purpose by providing access to resources, educational tools and support through the six dimensions of well-being. This will help Elon become a national model for programs, research and dialogues promoting resilience, belonging and all aspects of lifelong personal wellness.
