Program Benefits:
Two degrees in 5.5 years: Earn both your bachelor’s degree and J.D. degree from a nationally ranked ABA accredited law school. Traditionally a seven-year process, this innovative curriculum allows you to save both time and money, reducing your time in school allowing you to start earning higher salaries ahead of your peers.
Dedicated one-on-one advising: Starting with ELN 1010, you will be paired with an academic advisor dedicated to assisting with course planning to ensure you complete all requirements needed to stay on track.
Engagement Opportunities: Though accelerated, the program is designed to with the same opportunities as traditional students. Elon is known for high-impact practices including undergraduate research, service learning, study abroad, student leadership and internships, all of which are still available to pursue. Frequent overlap with Elon law is expected including invites to the Distinguished Leadership Lectures, Law Review symposia, clinics and moot court and mock trial.
Who should apply?
The accelerated 3+2.5 law dual-degree program is competitive and accepts only a limited number of incoming first-year students each year. Candidates should have a GPA of at least 3.8 and pursued a rigorous high school curriculum including advanced coursework in math, science and English.
How to apply?
This This program is only available for incoming first-year applicants. After submitting your first-year application by January 10 the 3+1 accelerated dual degree application will be available in the Acorn Account. Applications are due by January 15. Transfer students or current Elon lateral entry are not permitted.
Program Requirements and Applying to Law School
- Apply to Elon Law School by February 15 of the year in which you seek admission.
- If needed, take the LSAT December of the third year.
- Must have at least 64 credit hours completed by time of application.
- Have a 3.4 GPA and an LSAT that exceeds the Law School’s Three-year average median.
- Have a GPA of 3.6 and your LSAT requirement will be waived.
- Complete Elon’s Core Curriculum and major requirements with a minimum of 108 credit hours.
