From locally sourced, simple ingredients to weekly menus created by on-site chefs, restaurant takeovers, food trucks, impromptu pop-ups, teaching kitchens, chef’s tables and farm table dinners, Elon offers a variety of dining experiences, ranging from all-you-can-eat dining to quick takeaway meals. Our three dining halls also cater to dietary needs, featuring allergen solutions alongside many made-without-gluten, vegetarian, vegan and healthy options. If you feel like eating off campus, there are several restaurants in downtown Elon and many in Burlington that accept Phoenix Cash.

Dining Halls

A taste above the rest

A variety of tasty meals are served daily at Clohan, Lakeside and McEwen dining halls. Menus at each location change daily, with entrees that appeal to every palate. Eat breakfast at Clohan, lunch at McEwen and dinner at Lakeside. Find the dining hall that’s closest to your residence hall or fill a sustainable to-go container with all your favorites and dine at home. Princeton Review ranks Elon #22 in the nation for best campus food.

Variety is the spice of life

On the days that you don’t want to eat in a dining hall, you can choose from an assortment of delicious restaurants on campus and in downtown Elon. They are popular among our students and many are owned by Elon alumni. They also accept Phoenix Cash, which you can add to your Phoenix Card. Many restaurants in Burlington, the city adjacent to Elon, also accept Phoenix Cash.

Elon Dining’s chefs and sustainability teams take pride in working with local food systems, along with third party certified suppliers across the country to ensure it is sourcing food the right way. Elon Dining’s sustainability efforts don’t stop there. The team works hard to utilizing reusables and compostable materials in its dining halls and restaurants, ensuring that facilities follow sustainable practices and align with the goals of the campus and community.
