Acorn Coffee Shop

A home-spun N.C. Zoo exclusive until recently, Billy D’s Fried Chicken is now bringing its “raised right, farm fresh, North Carolina hot ‘n’ crispy fried chicken” and Southern sides to Elon! Local owner Chef William Dissen is well-known for his focus on using the freshest responsibly sourced ingredients to reimagine authentic southern cuisines. Billy D’s is located on the second floor in McEwen Dining Hall.

Located within Fountain Market on the first floor of Clohan Hall, Boar’s Head Deli’s specialty is crafting the perfect sandwich with its line of deli meats, cheeses, hummus, dips, spreads and condiments, which are also available for purchase in Fountain Market. Fountain Market
Located on the first floor of Clohan Hall, Fountain Market is loaded with snacks, healthy choices, coffee, smoothies, cold beverages, staple and specialty foods, locally sourced products, ready-to-eat meals and fresh sushi rolled on-location. Fountain Market also has Elon’s student-made store, Oak Originals at the Marketplace powered by Doherty Center for Creativity, Innovation & Entrepreneurship. Freshii
Located in Winter Garden Café, freshii offers students fresh, healthy dining options for lunch and dinner. Magerks Pub & Grill
Magerks, located in downtown Elon, features cheese steaks, signature cheese steak egg rolls, nachos, sliders, sandwiches, soups, salad, burgers, wings and a craft beer list (with a focus on our amazing NC breweries) and fresh crafted crush cocktails.

Mediterranean Deli
The Mediterranean Deli, located in dowtown Elon, serves fresh food inspired by the cultures and regions around the Mediterranean. The deli case features dozens of salads, spreads and specialty dishes. Cakes, baklava and other sweet treats are available for dessert. There are vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options as well.
The Oak House
The Oak House is a gourmet coffee, fine wine, craft beer and artisan fare establishment located in downtown Elon. It’s not unusual to find students studying or small groups gathering for a meeting on the right side of the bar. That’s where you can order freshly brewed coffee and a a variety of coffee drinks and teas. There is also an assortment of bottled cold drinks, snacks and sweet treats for purchase. On the right side of the building is the beer and wine bar. It’s a popular spot for older students and faculty and staff to gather after work.
Pandora’s Pies
From classic pizzas to specialty pies, sandwiches, salads, strombolis, calzones, an array of appetizers and a gluten-free options, Pandora’s Pies is a popular hangout for students. Located in downtown Elon, the restaurant touts the “finest local ingredients and food in a quick and reasonable fashion.” Many of Pandora’s ingredients – vegetables, herbs, mushrooms, cheeses, sausage, salami – are locally sourced and seasonal. They also have a selection of draft beer from N.C. craft breweries that rotates monthly.
Qdoba Mexican Grill
Qdoba Mexican Grill, located in Daniel Commons in the Danieley Neighborhood, is a campus favorite offering a customizable menu of burritos, bowls, tacos and more. Known for its fresh, house-made guacamole, this vibrant eatery serves up fresh and flavorful meals for lunch and dinner and is perfect for busy students and faculty alike.
The Root
Known for its seasonal specials, tasty big bowl salads, fried brussel sprouts, island chicken, gourmet grilled cheese, burgers and vegan fare, The Root offers “fresh, flavorful food made from scratch with quality ingredients by people passionate about good cooking.” It’s a popular spot for students in downtown Elon. It’s open for dine-in, takeout and delivery.
Smitty’s Homemade Ice Cream
Smitty’s makes small batches of homemade, super-premium ice cream . The ingredients are of the highest quality and locally sourced when available. Located inside Pandora’s Pies in downtown Elon, Smitty’s is a perfect end to a meal or a great afternoon treat. Oreo, chocolate, strawberry, amaretto cherry chip and butter pecan are the best-selling choices, although flavors such as brown sugar oatmeal are also a favorite.
Steepd Tea Bar
Located in Global Commons in the Global Neighborhood, Steepd serves freshly brewed, locally sourced tea. It’s the perfect spot to grab a convenient, delicious meal prepared by Med Deli. We continue to source all of our tea locally from one of our local partners, Chad’s Chai in Winston-Salem, N.C. Tangent Eat + Bar
Located in downtown Elon, Tangent offers made-to-order tacos that are a hit with students. Whether it’s a chicken and waffle taco, spicy catfish, shrimp melt, fried green tomato, bahn mi tofu or pork tonkatsu, the menu is filled with flavorful options. Fried corn on the cob and truffle-topped tots are among the popular sides.
