Make Lifelong Friends

As a first-year student, you live in one of four neighborhoods. This is where you meet lifelong friends, have study sessions, enjoy deep conversations and laugh until the middle of the night. This is truly your home away from home, where treasured memories are made and life-changing experiences happen. If you are interested in finding friends with similar academic, social or creative interests, apply to a Living-Learning Community.

Residential Neighborhoods

Live Your Best Life

There are eight residential neighborhoods on campus, and first-year students live in one of four. From double rooms to pod suites, each neighborhood has a variety of room styles and amenities to make your time at Elon comfortable and safe. Elon is #5 on the SafeWise’s safest cities in North Carolina 2024 list. Most residential neighborhoods have accessible room options.

Living-Learning Communities

Finding Common Ground

Apply to join one of more than 20 Living-Learning Communities (LLC) where groups of students live in proximity, share similar interests and interact academically and socially around a unifying theme, interest, affinity group or (inter)disciplinary focus. Consistently ranked #1 by U.S. News & World Report, Elon’s LLCs provide a chance to engage with expert faculty and professionals; attend events, programs and talks from guest speakers; participate in service experiences; and meet new friends who share a common interest.

Roommates

A Perfect Match

Who am I going to live with my first year at Elon? Most incoming students are excited – and anxious – about meeting their first roommate. There are many unknowns, but our Residence Life staff works hard to match students with each other using information in the roommate questionnaire section of the housing application you complete once you commit to Elon. It’s not a perfect science, but many first-year roommates become lifelong friends.
