Steps in Applying

Apply early for need-based aid. This improves your chances for getting the maximum aid for which you are eligible.

You should complete the 2025-26 FAFSA and CSS Profile as soon as possible.  Both forms are available and are required to be considered for need-based financial aid. We will begin to review FAFSA and Profile data in early January for first-year students and in April for continuing students.

Unless the student is a continuing student, no aid is awarded until the student has been accepted for admission to Elon University; however, you should not wait until you have been accepted to apply for aid.

  1. For all types of aid, complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Elon’s FAFSA federal Title IV school code is 002927.
  2. Elon University requires the results of the CSS Profile to be considered for need-based aid that comes from the university.  The Profile is completed at https://cssprofile.collegeboard.org  Elon’s CSS Profile code is 5183.
  3. Notify Elon’s Office of Financial Aid of any scholarships, grants, loans or other assistance you will be receiving from any source other than Elon University. Such notification is required by federal regulation as well as institutional policy.
