This challenge is designed to be accessible to all faculty, regardless of AI expertise. The goal is to encourage experimentation with AI, ethically and responsibly, in ways that enhance active and engaged learning.

Submissions do not require a fully developed project—just a well-thought-out idea that demonstrates creativity and impact.

By participating, you will:

  • Receive a free ChatGPT Edu license for approved ideas
  • Join a community of educators exploring AI’s role in higher education
  • Gain an opportunity to present your work at a university-wide event
  • Contribute to Elon’s AI Pedagogy Resource Hub, where best practices and insights will be shared with the broader academic community

Application Process

  1. Submit your application using the AI Pedagogy Challenge Application Form.
  2. (Optional) After submitting your application, you will receive a link to a short optional AI literacy course (3-4 hours to complete on Moodle, self-paced).
  3. If your application is ranked in the top 50, you will receive a ChatGPT Edu license immediately after submitting your application.

Requirements

  • The challenge is open exclusively to Elon University faculty, but stay tuned for exciting events and challenges planned for staff and students!
  • The top five (5) faculty projects will be invited to a show-and-tell event in early May
