These 10 accomplished alumni from the past decade have achieved professional success, continuously work to better their communities and serve as loyal alumni role models.

Yasmine Arrington Brooks ’15Yasmine Arrington Brooks ’15
Founder & Executive Director of ScholarCHIPS

Yasmine Arrington Brooks earned her undergraduate degree in strategic communications and history in 2015. She also received a Master of Divinity degree from Howard University in 2018. Yasmine is the Founder and Executive Director of ScholarCHIPS, Inc., a nonprofit that provides college scholarships, mentoring, mental health support, and a network to children of incarcerated parents, inspiring them to complete their college education. She founded the organization in 2010 while a junior in high school. Since 2012, ScholarCHIPS has awarded over $500K to 88 scholars, now with 45 college graduates to date.

A 2023 “CNN Heroes” finalist, Yasmine was featured on the “Drew Barrymore Show” in March 2024 as a “Drew Gooder.” In April 2024, Yasmine was presented with Arizona State University’s Champion for Child Well-Being award for her commitment to supporting college-bound young adults who have incarcerated parents.


Erica Braschi ’18Erica Braschi ’18
Resident Doctor in Radiation Oncology at the University of Florida

Dr. Erica Braschi graduated summa cum laude in 2018 with a BS degree in biochemistry and was a standout on the Women’s Tennis team, winning CAA Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year (2017-2018) and All-CAA Conference Singles and Doubles Accolades (2016-2018). She was also a two-year team captain.

Erica received her MD degree from the University of Florida in 2022. In 2023, she had an internship with the UCF College of Medicine/HCA North Florida Hospital and is currently a Resident in Radiation Oncology at the University of Florida. Her research and career interests focus on radiation treatment for cancer patients. Erica has published three scientific papers, given many presentations at national medical conferences, and has six active research projects. Erica is also an Advisory Board Member for the Keira Grace Foundation, which is a non-profit organization focused on taking proven cancer treatments to developing nations.


Lauren Brzozowski ’19Lauren Brzozowski ’19 
Bobsled Athlete for Team USA Bobsled & Skeleton

Lauren Brzozowski graduated with a degree in strategic communications in 2019 and was a member of the Track and Field team. After graduation, Lauren continued her aspirations in track, moved to the United Kingdom and began running for Loughborough University while simultaneously pursuing a master’s degree in marketing, which she completed in 2020.

During the pandemic, Lauren returned to the United States, pivoted to winter sports, and discovered bobsledding and skeleton. She participated in a virtual workout which led to an in-person tryout for USA Bobsled & Skeleton, earning Lauren a spot with the USA Bobsled development team. In 2022, Lauren competed in the IBSF Junior World Championships in Austria, where she and her teammate placed 7th in the two-women bobsled. She was also the first woman to ever receive the overall monobob award in the IBSF North American Cup division. In December 2023, Team USA announced that Lauren would be one of three female pilots on the team of 18 athletes for the 2023-2024 IBSF World Cup competition season. Lauren is currently working towards earning a spot on team USA for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.


Brooke Greenberg ’17Brooke Greenberg ’17
Singer, Songwriter

Brooke Greenberg graduated with a degree in music production & recording arts in 2017. After moving to Nashville, she worked as a content creator for Big Machine Label Group and later Warner Music Nashville, while simultaneously building her social media following under the stage name Brooke Alexx.

In 2022, she represented New Jersey on NBC’s American Song Contest, hosted by Snoop Dogg and Kelly Clarkson. Following the show, her song “All My Exes’ Moms” went viral, launching her pop career. She then began touring, opening for acts such as Lostboycrow, Arrows in Action, and Nicotine Dolls. In October 2024, she released her debut album, “Big Mouth,” and is currently headlining her first tour.


Simone Jackson ’16Simone Jackson ’16
Global Senior Brand Manager at Spotify

Simone Jackson graduated in 2016 with a degree in strategic communications. After four years at Elon as a student-athlete and a two-time CAA champion on the Track and Field team, Simone has been a leader in the brand marketing space. She currently leads global marketing initiatives and brand campaigns for Spotify including Spotify Wrapped and a partnership with Roblox, which included the launch of Planet Hip-Hop, a new music portal on Spotify Island that celebrated hip-hop and increased traffic by more than ten million visits.

Previously, Simone led the launching of Beyonce’s first adidas x IVY PARK clothing and sneaker collection and Nike’s 2016 NBA Season Opener’s campaign featuring LeBron James. Simone also serves a mentor for Spotify’s PULSE Fellowship Program to help shift culture by showcasing Black creativity, innovation, and Black excellence. Simone has received several prestigious awards and fellowships, including ADCOLOR Futures in 2016, Adweek Rising in 2020, LiveNation’s Next Fem Gemme in 2023, and Forbes 30 Under 30 Marketing & Advertising in 2024.


JJ Niemann ’17JJ Niemann ’17
Broadway Actor, currently in “Hamilton”

JJ Niemann earned his degree in music theatre in 2017. Just three days after graduating, JJ got the call that he would be performing as a swing in the Broadway production of “The Book of Mormon” and made his Broadway debut in July 2017. During the pandemic, he performed in “Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical,” a crowdsourced musical based on the Disney film “Ratatouille,” which raised over $2M to benefit the performing arts during the pandemic. A year later, he got to work with Disney Theatricals directly in the workshops and world premiere of “Hercules” at Paper Mill Playhouse.

Most recently, JJ was a member of the original Broadway cast of “Back to the Future” from 2023 to 2025, where he was a member of the ensemble and served as the understudy for the two leads, Marty McFly and George McFly. He also performed with the cast in the 2023 “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade” and on “Good Morning America.” As of February, JJ joined the Broadway production of “Hamilton” and can be seen performing eight times a week at the Richard Rodgers as Charles Lee.


Morgan Stonebridge ’17Morgan Stonebridge ’17
Director of Product, Video Partnerships at NBCUniversal

Morgan Stonebridge graduated in 2017 with a degree in marketing and shortly after, secured a role at Buzzfeed, where she quickly rose through the ranks, eventually becoming Director of Ad Operations in less than four years. She was also involved with Buzzfeed’s DI&B Council. All of this led to her managing the Ad Operations team at the time of Buzzfeed going public. Post smooth IPO launch, Morgan took her talents to NBCUniversal, where she became the Director of Product Management and Digital Partnerships (YouTube). Overseeing all of the NBC YouTube properties, she quickly gained visibility from executives and within a year was handed three additional products to oversee, updating her title to Director of Product, Video Partnerships.

Morgan has been an Alumni Chapter Volunteer for the Elon Stamford Chapter since 2021 and currently serves as president. Morgan is also a part-time dance instructor and choreographer at Movement Dance Studio and helps with marketing and planning for the studio.


Vaughn Vreeland ’15Vaughn Vreeland ’15
Supervising Producer and Senior Video Journalist at NYT Cooking

Vaughn Vreeland graduated magna cum laude in 2015 with a degree in media arts and entertainment and French. After graduating from Elon, Vaughn moved to Thailand to teach English at Eastern Technological College and worked as a freelance videographer while teaching. Upon his return to the United States, Vaughn started working for BuzzFeed as a Video Fellow for their Tasty department. While working for BuzzFeed Tasty, Vaughn advanced from Video Fellow to Junior Producer to Creator in less than two years.

Vaughn left BuzzFeed in December 2018 to start working for The New York Times as a Senior Video Journalist for NYT Cooking. In August 2022, Vaughn also added the title of Supervising Producer for NYT Cooking, expanding the reach of their recipes and food journalism both off- and on-platform. He has been featured multiple times on “Good Morning America.” In 2023, Vaughn made the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for media.


Peter Walpole ’15Peter Walpole ’15
Faculty at City College of New York

Peter Walpole received his degree in media arts and entertainment in 2015. While at Elon, Peter won the Neff Experiences Scholarship issued by the School of Communications faculty for completing all five Elon experiences. From 2015-2025, Peter was with Golin, and most currently served as Senior Manager, Corporate Affairs Digital. Since joining Golin as an intern in the summer of 2015, he worked with clients in professional services, beauty, tech, and food & beverage to build and implement social media strategy and elevate thought leadership. In addition to content production and community management, Peter had a particular focus on executive social media coaching, creating and running a program called Proactive Profile, having trained nearly 500 business leaders to date.

Since 2022, Peter has served as an adjunct professor for the City College of New York Branding + Integrated Communications master’s program. He has also been a part-time faculty member at Marist College since August 2024.


Miles Williams ’15Miles Williams ’15
Elementary School Principal at Bricolage Academy

Miles Williams graduated cum laude in 2015 with a degree in Human Services Studies and was a two-time captain of the Football team. Miles then earned his master’s degree at the University of Chicago and graduated in 2018 earning the highest honors in his program. Moving to New Orleans, Miles accepted the role of Director of Elementary Student Culture at Bricolage Academy. During the pandemic in 2020, Miles created virtual spaces for students and families to stay connected, and during this time, he was awarded a $25K grant from Education First to implement evidence-based Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) practices and programs for Black boys.

In 2022, Miles became the elementary school principal at Bricolage Academy, currently the only Black male elementary school principal in New Orleans. His accomplishments during his tenure include leading the school to surpass city and state averages of mastery of all subjects (ELA, Math, Social Studies, and Science) for 3rd grade on the 2023 Louisiana state assessment, outperforming city and state averages in 2024 ELA Mastery for 3rd and 4th graders with 73% of 3rd grade students in special education scoring at or above benchmark, and co-founding BricHouse Intramurals, a sports league for K-4th graders, in partnership with Jr. NBA and the New Orleans Pelicans.
