AlcoholEdu for College is a 2- to 3-hour program produced by EverFi. Delivered in an interactive web-based format, this evidence based course provides information about alcohol use and is designed to encourage students to make healthful or low risk choices.
The course consists of five modules, which include a knowledge pre-test, program content, an exam, and surveys assessing alcohol-related attitudes and behavior. Students will receive an email in early-July with log-in information. The online program may be completed in several sessions.
Part 1 (Modules 1-4)
Provides students with information, personalized feedback, and activities to help students consider choices and behaviors aligned with personal goals. Also provides information to assist students seeking help for a friend.
Part 2 (Module 5)
Part 2 consists of a review of course material and a follow-up survey (active post-matriculation).

Module 1
Where do you stand? This module includes an introduction to the course as well as a video on standard drink sizes. The knowledge pre-test and survey 1 are administered during this module.
Module 2
Getting the Facts. This module includes information about alcohol expectancies and influences, information on the effects of alcohol on the mind and body, and information on Elon’s policies and local laws about alcohol use.

Module 5
Mastering the College Environment. This module includes a review of the course thus far as well as guidance on further developing their personal plan, strategies around dealing with stress in college, and information on how to help a friend who may have an alcohol addiction. Survey 3 is administered during this module.
The surveys built into AlcoholEdu for College are designed to assess students’ attitudes and behaviors before, during, and after the course. All individual responses on surveys and exams are confidential and anonymous; survey results will only be available only in an aggregate format. We do track course progress and exam scores but are not able to access specific responses to any exam or survey questions.
